I want to be with you, and still be with…

Myself.

I realize now, how much I need me…

Too.

 

Previous loves were intoxicating and blinding,

I lost myself.

 

I thought to be in love was to lose oneself.

I thought to be in love was to breathe through another.

But...

I suffocated.

 

I no longer think like that.

 

I want you to be all that you can be.

And still choose to be with me.

 

I promise to do this for you too.

To reach for the stars within me,

And still choose to be with you.

 

I need you to be yourself,

Entirely.

And...

I need to be myself,

Completely.

 

I’m not sure how,

But...
